It is illegal to dispose of household hazardous waste in your trash. Free drop off for household hazardous waste and universal waste is available for Oceanside residents twice a month by appointment only on Saturdays at the Waste Management Household Hazardous Waste Facility at 2880 Industry St., Oceanside, CA 92054. It is illegal to dispose of sharps in your trash. You can properly dispose of these materials at the Waste Management Recycling Center at 2880 Industry Street. Please package these materials in a sealed red biohazard container or in a see-through hard container like a water bottle or milk jug with the top taped. Expired medications can be disposed of at the Waste Management Household Hazardous Waste Center at 2880 Industry Street, twice a month on Saturdays by appointment only. Green Week, which is generally held in March, is a week long celebration of our environment and our Green Oceanside community. The week’s events include but are not limited to, a Green Oceanside Youth Art Contest, Environmental Film Festival, library programs, outreach events, compost workshop, and a Green Fair.
