Oceanside's Special Municipal Election will be held on Tuesday, June 5, 2012 for the purpose of voting on two ballot measures.
Proposition E is the result of a referendum petition signed by citizens. The proposition will appear on the ballot as follows: | Shall Ordinance No. 11-OR0427-1, adding Section 16B16(e) to the Oceanside City Code for the purpose of implementing vacancy decontrol allowing space rents to increase following the sale or conveyance of a manufactured home, be adopted? | YES | | NO | To read the full text of the above ordinance, click here  (181.5 KB). Proposition F is the result of Council action. The language of the proposition is as follows: | Shall the proposed amendment to the Charter of the City of Oceanside, to establish numbered, elected at-large seats; establish a June first-round election, and a November runoff election for any June election where no candidate receives over 50% for all elected offices, effective for the June 2014 election; establish a first-round election and runoff election if no candidate receives over 50% for any special election to fill a vacancy or recall election be adopted? | YES | | NO | To read the full text of the proposed Charter amendment, click here (131.1 KB).
Political Action Committees (PAC's) If you will be independently involved in political campaign contributions to and/or expenditures regarding either/both ballot measures for the upcoming Oceanside Special Municipal Election June 5, 2012, you may need to register as a Political Action Committee under requirements prescribed by the California Political Reform Act of 1974. For those potential PAC's planning to expend or receive more than $1,000 for this election, be aware that there are documents and forms that must first be filed. Therefore, prior to any such expenditures or contributions, please contact us regarding the current election laws covering campaign funds to be in compliance with California Election laws.
