Teen Summer Reading

What's Teen Summer Reading? You’ve heard it all before—reading’s good for you!  But this summer, it will help someone in need.  For every book, audiobook, magazine, or newspaper you read, you will be helping to raise money for a local charity!  This way your reading will be making a difference.

How does it work?

For every book review submitted, $1 will be donated to the San Diego Humane Society & Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals (SPCA), North Campus here in Oceanside.  So for every book you read and review you'll be helping our furry friends.

What kinds of things can I read?

As you know, reading is everywhere! Here are the things you can report on:
Books, E-Books, Manga or Graphic Novels, Newspapers, Magazines, and Audiobooks

How do you report?

You will write your reviews on-line.  After you review three books you are eligible for a prize.  Stop by the library or bookmobile to pick up your prize.  You can also browse through other teen’s reviews to find good books!

What’s in it for me?

Prizes, of course!  For each title you read and report on, you’ll be entered into the weekly drawing.  Every third book, you’ll be eligible for a grab prize and a ticket for the grand prize drawing, and when you reach 24 books you’ll be entered into the Mega Reader Prize Drawing and you might win an iPad mini!  The more books you read the more chances you have to win!
