The City of Oceanside Parks and Recreation Division and the “Friends of Oceanside Parks” will host the annual Heritage Park Day Festival fundraising event at Heritage Park, located at 220 Peyri Road, Oceanside on Saturday, May 14th from 12noon – 4:00 p.m. Enjoy live music, dance performances, an antique car show, historic building tours, food booths and vendors and chances to win the opportunity drawings. Admission to the event is $5 for adults and $1 for children with proceeds benefiting the “Friends of Oceanside Parks”, a non-profit Foundation established to raise money to ensure recreational services and programs are always within reach for all Oceanside residents.
Oceanside Parks and Recreation presents Father-Daughter Ball Friday, June 10th from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at the El Country Club Senior Center located at 455 Country Club Lane. Parks and Recreation presents “The Good Dinosaur” Saturday, September 3rd at the Pier Amphitheater located south of the Beach Recreation Center and Oceanside Pier. Come and see this 2006 film that details the unlikely partnership between a rabbit police officer and a red fox con artist as they uncover a conspiracy that involves the disappearance of predator civilians within a mammalian utopia.

The City of Oceanside Parks and Recreation Division and the Friends of Oceanside Parks are excited to announce the Concert In The Park on Friday, June 17th. It will be held at Rancho Del Oro Park, 4701 Mesa Drive (next to the YMCA). The pre-show entertainment starts at 5:00 p.m. The Mardels, a popular dance band will play all of your favorite hits and will perform from 6:00 p.m. – 8:00 p.m. Come early and bring your blanket or beach chair. Food and drink vendors will be on site. The Friends Of Oceanside Parks will be selling opportunity drawing tickets to help raise money for future events.

Friends of Oceanside Parks, North County Model Railroad Society and North and Heritage Park Village Museum invite you to Heritage Park 40th Year Celebration, Sunday July 10th from 1-6pm. In 1975, the City was gifted an old county public works yard, and the City fathers decided to build a Bicentennial project called Heritage Park. During the next year, houses and buildings were moved into position, a committee was formed, and docents began to give tours of how life was around the early 1900’s. In 1976, Heritage Park opened. Welcome Model Trains! The North County Model Railroad Society (NCMRS) invites you to visit them in their new home at Oceanside's historic Heritage Park, located at 220 Peyri Drive, adjacent to the Mission San Luis Rey. NCMRS members will spend several months building out their extensive rail system, but you can visit a small version, on display now, each Saturday from 10:00 am - 3:00 pm. The City of Oceanside Parks and Recreation Division and the San Diego Bicycle Coalition invite you to learn skills to be a safer cyclist in Oceanside. All classes are held at the Oceanside Library Community Rooms, 300 North Coast Highway, Oceanside, CA 92054, and will be held throughout 2015. Classes run from 6:00 pm to 9:00 pm.
