Oceanside Parks and Recreation presents Father/Daughter Ball Friday, June 10, from 5:00 - 8:00 pm at the Country Club Senior Center located at 455 Country Club Lane. Girls up to age 12 are encouraged to attend with their dads. The admission price is $15 for “Dads” and $10 for “Daughters”. Hors d’oeuvres and entertainment provided. Pre-registration is required. The City of Oceanside Parks and Recreation Division and the Friends of Oceanside Parks are excited to announce the Concert In The Park on Friday, June 17. It will be held at Rancho Del Oro Park, 4701 Mesa Drive (next to the YMCA). The pre-show entertainment starts at 5:00 pm The Mardels, a popular dance band, will play all of your favorite hits and will perform from 6:00 – 8:00 pm. Come early and bring your blanket or beach chair. Food and drink vendors will be on site. The Friends Of Oceanside Parks will be selling opportunity drawing tickets to help raise money for future events
Parks and Recreation presents Star Wars “The Force Awakens” Friday, June 24, at the Pier Amphitheater, located south of the Junior Seau Beach Recreation Center and Oceanside Pier. The Force Awakens is set 30 years after Return of the Jedi. It follows Rey, Finn, and Poe Dameron's search for Luke Skywalker and their fight alongside the Resistance, led by veterans of the Rebel Alliance, against Kylo Ren and the First Order, a group that is the successor to the Galactic Empire. Movie starts at dark, so come early to set up your own “Movie Theater.” Bring your blankets and picnic dinners and spend your evening with family, friends, and Parks and Recreation under the night sky. This is a FREE, family-friendly event.

Friends of Oceanside Parks, North County Model Railroad Society and North and Heritage Park Village Museum invite you to Heritage Park 40th Year Celebration, Sunday, July 10, from 1:00 - 6:00 pm. In 1975, the City was gifted an old county public works yard, and the City fathers decided to build a Bicentennial project called Heritage Park. During the next year, houses and buildings were moved into position, a committee was formed, and docents began to give tours of how life was around the early 1900’s. In 1976, Heritage Park opened. Sunday, August 7, is #Oceanside Day at Petco Park! vs. The Philadelphia Phillies. Enjoy a reduced price ball game and participate in a pre-game ceremony on the warming track to honor Oceanside. Welcome Model Trains! The North County Model Railroad Society (NCMRS) invites you to visit them in their new home at Oceanside's historic Heritage Park, located at 220 Peyri Drive, adjacent to the Mission San Luis Rey. NCMRS members will spend several months building out their extensive rail system, but you can visit a small version, on display now, each Saturday from 10:00 am - 3:00 pm. All classes are held at the Oceanside Library Community Rooms, 300 North Coast Highway, Oceanside, CA 92054, and will be held throughout 2015. Classes run from 6:00 - 9:00 pm.
