Ray Bechler
Captain Ray Bechler joined the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department in 1987 after graduating from San Juan High School in Sacramento County. He laterally transferred to the Sacramento County Sheriff’s Department and rose to the rank of Lieutenant where he had the opportunity to work numerous assignments such as; Patrol Field Training Officer, Detectives, Patrol Sergeant, Communications Supervisor, and Internal Affairs.

Captain Bechler joined the Citrus Heights Police Department to help them build its brand new department after the city severed the law enforcement contract from the Sacramento County Sheriff’s Department. While at Citrus Heights he managed the Investigations Division along with the K-9 team, Peer Support Team, Reserve Police Officer Program, and served as the SWAT Commander.

Captain Bechler joined the Oceanside Police Department in October, 2011. He had earned his Bachelor of Science and Masters’ of Science from CSU-Long Beach. He is a POST Command College graduate (class #47), and attended the FBI National Academy (session #246).
