Lieutenant Sean Marchand began his career with the Oceanside Police Department in July of 1997. He has served in a variety of assignments including Patrol, Resource Team and Special Weapons and Tactics (SWAT). He has also served as a detective in the Investigation Division’s Special Enforcement Section. He was promoted to Sergeant in 2006 and served as a patrol supervisor, SWAT team leader, Field Operations Support Sergeant, and Special Enforcement Section supervisor before promoting to Lieutenant in 2011.
Lieutenant Marchand received a Bachelor of Science Degree in Public Administration from San Diego State University in 2005. He is also a graduate of the Sherman Block Supervisory Leadership Institute, Class 279.
Lieutenant Marchand is currently a Watch Commander in the Field Operations Division and holds the collateral duty of SWAT Commander.
