Captain Sean Marchand began his career with the Oceanside Police Department in July of 1997. He has served in a variety of assignments including Patrol, Resource Team and Special Weapons and Tactics (SWAT). He has also served as a Detective in the Investigation Division’s Special Enforcement Section. He was promoted to Sergeant in 2006 and served as a patrol supervisor, SWAT team leader, Field Operations Support Sergeant, and Special Enforcement Section Supervisor before promoting to Lieutenant in 2011. As Lieutenant, he served as a Watch Commander in Patrol and held the collateral assignments of SWAT Team Executive Officer and Commanding Officer. In July 2015 he was promoted to Captain.
Captain Marchand received a Bachelor of Science Degree and a Master's Degree in Public Administration from San Diego State University. He is a graduate of the Sherman Block Supervisory Leadership Institute, Class 279 and the FBI National Academy, Class 252.
Captain Marchand is currently assigned to the Patrol Division.
