| | Solid Waste & Recycling Services The City of Oceanside Solid Waste and Recycling Division is responsible for ensuring the City’s compliance with California Assembly Bill 939, which requires all California cities to divert a minimum of 50% from the deposit in landfills. Through the implementation of numerous waste reduction and recycling programs, policies, and outreach projects, Solid Waste and Recycling staff have helped the City of Oceanside successfully reach a 59% diversion/recycling rate, which equates to approximately 4lbs of trash per person/per day, which is well below the State’s maximum limit of 6.3 lbs. of trash per person/per day.
Staff monitors all solid waste and recycling services as provided by Waste Management and Agri Services, to further ensure these services help our community meet all State regulations and City Zero Waste goals. Staff also acts as the City liaison to the Integrated Waste Commission, an advisory board to the City Council. If you have any questions or concerns about solid waste and recycling services, please feel free to contact us at the Recycling Hotline at (760) 435-5015. What is New...
