| | Environmental Classroom Presentations As part of the California State Mandate AB939, each municipality is required to provide a certain level of outreach and educational programs to local schools, to help ensure our city meets the required 50% Diversion/Recycling rate. All outreach and educational programs implemented are then reported to the state in great detail in our annual Diversion reports, further providing a reason for schools and local groups to take advantage of what the Green Oceanside team has to offer as it relates to waste reduction and recycling outreach.
Green Oceanside team members are available to provide presentations that are interactive, hands on, and informative about all the major environmental issues facing our community and youth today. Presentations can be made to classrooms, assemblies, community groups, resource centers, and businesses and are available in Spanish.
Whatever your need is, solid waste and recycling staff are here to help in your environmental education interests. A range of waste related topics are included in each of the varying programs, including but not limited to a Reduce Waste, Reuse and Recycle program, as well as a Compost presentation. We can vary each presentation to the classroom’s curriculum or requirements. Oftentimes, we bring supplies and outreach materials that can further enable your students to Reduce, Reuse, and Recycle beyond the classroom. Please call us on the Recycling Hotline at (760) 435-5015, to set up an environmental presentation at your local school.
