| | | Moya BrennanAugust 29, 2011 The Oceanside Public Library and the Friends of the Oceanside Public Library are proud to present Grammy Award winner Moya Brennan with Cormac de Barra as part of the 2011 World Music Series. This concert will be held on Friday, September 16, 2011, in the Civic Center Library Community Rooms located at 330 N. Coast Highway. Performance time will be 7:30 pm. Free parking is available in the Civic Center parking garage. Hailing from large musical families in Ireland, (Moya’s sister is singer Enya), Moya Brennan and Cormac de Barra’s new album, “Voices & Harps”, combines simplicity, depth and beauty. Aside from a successful solo career, Moya is the lead singer for legendary Irish band Clannad, which was featured on the movie soundtrack The Last of the Mohicans. She has collaborated with many notable artists including the Chieftains and Bono of U2. Cormac is a renowned harp virtuoso who continually pushes the boundaries of the Irish harp through his work with artists like Hazel O’Connor and Clannad. He also tours and records with the family group, Barcó. Tickets for the performance are $15.00 for all ages and are available at the Oceanside Civic Center Library and Mission Branch Library customer service desks. Seating is limited for this performance so advance ticket purchase is recommended. Doors open at 7:00 pm and it is open seating.
