| | | New Utility Bill Format for Oceanside CustomersSeptember 27, 2011 Improvements Make Bill Easier to Read and Understand
City of Oceanside utility customers will notice a change in the format of their monthly water bill starting on October 3, 2011. The new layout will make it easier to understand the charges for water, sewer and trash usage.
The new bills feature a bar chart which gives each customer a clear visual summary of their past usage. In addition, each service charge is clearly divided with distinct symbols for water, sewer, and trash. These changes mean customers will be able to see usage patterns and make adjustments so they can use less water and save money.
"The purpose for the change in format is to improve our bill and make it easier to understand," said Cari Dale, Water Utilities Director, City of Oceanside. “We also wanted to empower our customers with more information for managing costs.”
A concise account summary table has been placed at the top of the bill to quickly identify important information such as account number, the bill amount, and due date. A detachable remittance stub at the bottom of the bill is now also easier to read.
Customers will find detailed information about their charges and the payment policies for the City of Oceanside Utilities Division on the reverse side of the new bill.
The City of Oceanside will continue to offer convenient online account access and online bill-paying services for utility customers. The Web site address to access these services is www.ci.oceanside.ca.us.
