Library Offers Resources for Oceanside's Small Businesses

November 2, 2011

Oceanside Public Library offers a wealth of information for small businesses.  As the City sees an increase in the amount of small businesses that are opening and expanding, librarians are noticing their services being sought more often. Senior Librarian Margaret Taylor says that she frequently offers expertise in helping to "shepherd Oceanside library users through a myriad of resources that are available," adding that many business owners are now opting to save costs by using materials, including many books that are available for checkout at the library.

In addition to a wide selection of free publications, newspapers, magazines and manuals; small business owners and new entrepreneurs can find fast and accurate help in locating contacts and business leads, new markets for products, and new suppliers through an online database by using their library card to access it.

"We are a sometimes-overlooked but excellent resource for small business," remarks Prinicipal Librarian Monica Chapa Domercq, who will be highlighting library resources at the Oceanside Small Business Forum. This free event will be on Tuesday, November 8 from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m. in the City Council Chambers at 300 N. Coast Highway. For more information, visit www.oceansidebusinessforum.com.
