Explore Native American Culture at the Oceanside Library

The public is invited to the Civic Center Library, 330 North Coast Highway, on Saturday, November 19, 2011 to enjoy local Native American art, crafts and storytelling. At 1 p.m. Cathleen Chilcote Wallace, founder of "Native Talk", will share stories of the Luiseno Indians, which will be followed by a children's craft. At 2 p.m., there will be a special reception with artist Raymond Lafferty in the Foundation Room. Lafferty's collection, "Spiritual Battle for Mesa Grande," will be on display throughout the library. At 3 p.m., the day will conclude with guest speaker, Paul Price, presenting on the history and culture of the San Luis Rey Band of Mission Indians. This event is free, for all ages and open to the public.
