Native American Cultural Celebration

The public is invited to the Civic Center Library, 330 North Coast Highway, on Saturday, November 19, 2011, to enjoy local Native American art, crafts, and storytelling. At 1:00 p.m. Cathleen Chilcote Wallace, founder of "Native Talk", will share stories of the Luiseño Indians, which will be followed by a children's craft. At 2:00 p.m., there will be a special reception with artist Raymond Lafferty in the Foundation Room. Lafferty's collection, “Spiritual Battle for Mesa Grande,” will be on display throughout the library. At 3:00 p.m., the day will conclude with guest speaker, Paul Price, presenting on the history and culture of the San Luis Rey Band of Mission Indians.
