Interactive Archaeology at the Library
March 6, 2012
The Oceanside Public Library invites the public to enjoy an interactive lecture with Annemarie Cox, Education Program Coordinator of the San Diego Archaeological Center, on Saturday, March 17, at 10:30 a.m. in the Foundation Room of the Civic Center Library at 330 N. Coast Highway. Ms. Cox will help define archaeology and the archaeological process. She will discuss what archaeology tells us about San Diego County's past as interpretive skills are put to the test with hands-on exhibits of artifacts from local societies and cultures of long ago. Learn more about the mission of the Archaeological Center to preserve San Diego County’s historic culture and ancient past. To conclude the program, there will be a Q&A session when questions of specific interest may be asked.
A graduate of SDSU, Ms. Cox received her BA degree in Anthropology in 1992. She interned at the San Diego Museum of Man and while there, worked on several large exhibits. She was the museum director at the Vista Historical Society Museum for eight years, after which she joined the Archaeological Center in 2001, becoming the Education Coordinator.
