Meet Author Thornton Sully and Celebrate Young Writers at the Library

April 9, 2012

In honor of National Library Week, the public is invited to meet author Thornton Sully at the Oceanside Public Library Community Rooms, 330 N. Coast Highway, on Saturday, April 14, at 2:00 p.m.  Thornton Sully, a world traveler who animates his characters with authenticity and intrigue, is the author of the book The Boy with the Torn Hat, a finalist for Best Literary Fiction for the USA Book Award.  Sully has two new novels coming out this year: Almost Avalon, and The Courtesans of God.  The author will read selections from his works.

Sully is currently the Editor-in-Chief of the company, A Word with You Press, and has published the works of half a dozen authors.  He is also the Director of Kid Expression, a grass-roots non-profit (501C3) program that helps young writers find their voices through eight weekly sessions of writing workshops. Several graduates of the program will be on hand that day to read from their own works.

Books will be available for signing and purchase. All proceeds of book sales will benefit Kid Expression. The event is free and sponsored by the Friends of the Oceanside Public Library For more information, please visit the Library's website at www.oceansidepubliclibrary.org or call (760) 435-5560.
