Police Arrest Four Men on Felony Charges Following a Vehicle Pursuit

On July 4, 2012 at approximately 1:45 p.m. two men forcibly entered a home 2200 block of Bliss Circle in Oceanside and assaulted two of the residents. Police located the suspect vehicle leaving the scene, and subsequently pursued the vehicle into Vista. The vehicle crashed into an electrical box and the occupants fled on foot. All of the occupants were subsequently arrested and booked on charges associated with the assault.
Today at 1:48 p.m. two men came to a residence in the 2200 block of Bliss Circle in and asked for a resident named Jackie. The person who answered the door, Jackie's grandmother, called for Jackie to come to the door. As 28-year-old Jackie Do approached, the two men forced the door open and pushed the grandmother to the floor. The two men proceeded to attack Do. Do, skilled in martial arts, was able to fend off the attack but he sustained numerous stab wounds from a suspect armed with a screw driver. The suspects fled the house when Do armed himself with a knife. The grandmother sustained minor abrasions; she did not receive medical treatment. Do's injuries were treated on scene; he was not transported for further treatment.
The suspects entered a truck occupied by two additional men and they all drove away. Police were dispatched to the home, and the suspect vehicle description was broadcast to responding Officers. Oceanside Officers located the suspect vehicle and conducted a traffic stop on Melrose Drive and Copper Way. The driver, identified as 40-year-old Hung Tu, rolled out of the car when it came to a stop and one of the passengers entered the driver’s seat and drove away with the remaining two occupants. Tu was detained on scene and other Officers pursued the suspect vehicle. The suspect vehicle lost control and crashed into an electrical box on Grapevine Street in Vista. The remaining three suspects fled the vehicle on foot, and were subsequently arrested during a search. The three suspects were identified as 38-year-old Than Ho, 23-year-old Andrew Le and 37-year-old Phong Bui.
Than Ho was booked for felony evading, conspiracy to commit burglary, assault with a deadly weapon and battery. Phong Bui was booked for conspiracy to commit burglary and assault with a deadly weapon. Andrew Le was booked for conspiracy to commit burglary, assault with a deadly weapon and a parole hold was placed on him. Hung Tu was booked for conspiracy to commit burglary and assault with a deadly weapon.
Note: In this case the burglary occurred when the suspects entered the house to commit the felony assault. This did not involve a theft. Victim Jackie Do said he did not know the suspects. The motive for the assault has not been established.
