Write On, Oceanside! Celebrates Local Authors
July 17, 2012
The public is invited to meet more than thirty published authors at the second "Write On, Oceanside!" literary fair at the Civic Center Library Plaza and Courtyard (330 N. Coast Hwy) on Saturday, July 28, from 10 am–2 pm. Authors from a wide variety of genres will be on hand to discuss, sell and sign their works as well as pose for photographs with fans. Children and teen authors will be located in the Courtyard where stories and crafts will be presented.
This year, organizers will add free workshops in the Community Rooms. Aspiring authors are encouraged to attend “Publish Don't Perish: an Introduction to Self Publishing” at 10:30 am. Bring your questions to our panel of experts. At 1 pm, readers are invited to find a book club at the “Book Club Mixer.” Several local book club members will be on hand to share their own triumphs and tips. Book Club members will also find out about special services the library offers. A special closing book talk at 2:15 pm with author Robert Shaffer, who recently published the historical novel Samoa, will conclude the day.
Event organizers and supporters from the Oceanside Public Library, Friends of the Oceanside Public Library and Oceanside Cultural Arts Foundation are pleased that “Write On, Oceanside!” has become popular with the community’s talented authors. The event and workshops are free and open to the public. Please visit the library’s website at www.oceansidepubliclibrary.org or call (760) 435-5600 for more information.
