After-School & Teen Programs

Now that summer is coming to an end and school is soon back in session, Parks and Recreation offers a variety of after-school and teen programs with endless benefits including active recreation, fieldtrips, homework assistance, volunteer opportunities and many other fun, enriching activities. Fall 2012 afterschool programs will be held at two locations: Joe Balderrama Recreation Center located at 709 San Diego Street, and Melba Bishop Recreation Center located at 5306 North River Rd.
The For Kids Sake Program designed for school-aged kids 1st through 5th grade is offered at Joe Balderrama Recreation Center on Mondays/Tuesdays/Thursdays/Fridays from 3:00–5:30 p.m. and Wednesdays from 12:30–5:30 p.m., and at the Melba Bishop Recreation Center on Mondays/Tuesdays/Thursdays/Fridays from 3:00–6:00 p.m. and Wednesdays from 1:30–6:00 p.m. The teen program "S.T.A.R.T." (Setting Targets And Reaching Teens), is offered at Melba Bishop Recreation Center Monday through Friday from 3:00–6:00 p.m. for pre-teens and teens ages 11-17.
