Police Arrest Woman for Attempted Murder

On August 16, 2012 at approximately 7 p.m. 62-year-old Donna Darling was arrested for attempting to murder a 92-year-old acquaintance by suffocation. The victim was treated and released from the Tri City Medical Center with minor facial injuries.
On August 16, 2012 at 7 p.m. Police and Paramedics were dispatched to Blue Sky Lane (mobile home community) to investigate the report of a possible assault against a 92-year-old man. The victim reported 62-year-old Donna Darling attempted to suffocate him with a pillow while he slept in his bedroom. A caretaker, in the home at the time of the incident, came in the bedroom shortly after the reported assault occurred. The caretaker called a family friend who responded to the victim's home. The Police and Paramedics were called after the victim described the assault to the family friend. Darling was subsequently arrested for attempted murder and elder abuse. The investigation is ongoing.
The suspect, Darling, does not reside with the victim. The motive for the reported assault is under investigation.
