Seeking Developers for Mixed-Use Parking Structure
June 24, 2013
The City of Oceanside’s Successor Agency, charged with overseeing the unwinding of its former Redevelopment Agency, is now embarking on a private/public partnership to bring a much needed improvement to one of its remaining land holdings near the waterfront. The site, known as Lot 23, is currently a 1.6 acre public parking lot bounded by Cleveland Street, Pier View Way, Civic Center Drive and the railroad tracks.
Oceanside is now seeking qualifications from development teams to provide services to assist with preparation of design plans, a financing plan, and other required services to build a mixed-use parking structure on this site. This mixed-use parking structure would fulfill a long-term vision, as outlined in the City’s 2000 Nine-Block Pier Area Master Plan, to provide more public parking coupled with visitor-oriented commercial uses to the waterfront area. This plan envisions a multi-story structure with 300-400 public parking spaces, as well as retail and office uses in an architectural design compatible with the waterfront location. Developer qualification packages are to be received by 5:00 p.m. July 15. Click here for RFQ.
