Motorcyclist dies in solo vehicle collision

Oceanside, CA – On Monday, July 22, 2013, at 1939 hours, the Oceanside Police Department responded to calls of a motorcycle collision at the Creekwood Villas apartment complex located at 3020 Oceanside Boulevard. Upon arrival, officers located a motorcyclist who had been ejected from his motorcycle. Both the motorcyclist and the motorcycle came to rest within the creek bed south of the complex. The motorcyclist was transported from the scene, however, his injuries proved fatal.
Although the investigation is ongoing, witnesses to the collision stated the motorcyclist was performing a “wheelie” (riding on only the rear tire with the front tire raised off the ground), when he lost control of the motorcycle and crashed. During the collision, the motorcyclist was ejected from the motorcycle. The name of the motorcyclist is being withheld pending the notification of his next of kin.
