Culture Through Literature Series
Celebrates Latina Womens' Stories
March 5, 2014
The public is invited to a special installment of the Culture Through Literature series featuring two authors, Laura De Anda and Sylvia Mendoza, at the Oceanside Public Library on Saturday, March 8, at 1:00 p.m. in the Civic Center Library courtyard, 330 North Coast Highway, Oceanside. De Anda, an award-winning editor and co-author, and Mendoza, an accomplished journalist, will read and speak about their contributions to 8 Ways to Say ‘I Love My Life,’ an anthology of inspiring essays written by Latina women. One of the most compelling ways to appreciate ones own heritage and that of others is by exploring and understanding works of fiction and non-fiction. The Culture Through Literature series provides this opportunity by presenting authors, scholars, and storytellers in readings, lectures, and discussions.
The event will be followed by a free musical performance of the Latin rhythms of Todo Mundo at 2:00 p.m. For more information about this free program, sponsored by the Friends of the Oceanside Public Library, please visit the Library’s website at oceansidepubliclibrary.org or call 760-435-5600.
