Library's Teen Zone Hosts Student Film Screening

March 24, 2014

The Oceanside Public Library’s Teen Zone is proud to host an artist reception and a screening of short film noir scenes created by students from Oceanside High School. As part of February’s celebration of the Big Read at the Oceanside Public Library, students in Ann Ward’s beginning art class and Sheryl Roccoforte’s drama and video production classes began creating works of art based on, and inspired by, Dashiel Hammett’s The Maltese Falcon. Throughout the month of March, the art pieces from Ms. Ward’s class have been hanging in the Teen Zone. Please join us on Wednesday, March 26 at 6:00 p.m., for a reception at the Civic Center Library, located at 330 North Coast Highway in Oceanside. There will also be a screening of four noir film scenes created by the students in the Library’s Community Rooms.

For more information please call 760-435-5600 or visit the website at www.oceansidepubliclibrary.org. The Big Read was made possible by a grant from the National Endowment of the Arts and the Friends of the Oceanside Public Library.
