Join the City of Oceanside, MainStreet Oceanside, and other local organizations as they celebrate Earth Day at the April MainStreet Mixer on Tuesday, April 22, 2014, from 5:00 - 8:00 p.m. at SpringHill Suites by Marriott at 110 North Myers Street in Oceanside. The event will be held on the outdoor ocean view terrace of the LEED (Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design) certified hotel. Music and food are courtesy of Hello Betty Fish House, and a no-host bar will be provided while learning more about Oceanside’s future Green Business Certification program. Businesses that are already taking a lead on sustainability and the Green Oceanside movement will be recognized. Keeping with the Earth Day theme, The Hill Street Country Club and Succulent Café will have beautiful pieces of eco-friendly artwork on display. The first 100 people in attendance will receive a free drink ticket at the door. RSVP by calling (760) 754-4512 or email Gumaro@mainstreetoceanside.com.
“The City is thrilled to be partnering with MainStreet Oceanside for the April Earth Day mixer,” said Colleen Foster, Solid Waste and Recycling Management Analyst, City of Oceanside. “We are especially excited to have this event to launch our Green Business Certification program for 2014-2015 and be able to recognize the Oceanside business community’s leadership in the Green Oceanside campaign and sustainability in North County.”
The Green Oceanside campaign is dedicated to teaching residents and businesses how to be better stewards of the Earth and to implement programs that protect and conserve natural resources. Through collaboration and partnerships, the Green Oceanside campaign offers opportunities to participate in events and programs that provide a direct benefit to the local environment while reducing the City’s carbon footprint.
“The April MainStreet Mixer will be a great way for residents and businesses to celebrate Earth Day,” added Gumaro Escarcega, MainStreet Oceanside’s Program Manager. “Not only will they be able to socialize and network while enjoying local food, drinks, music and eco-friendly artwork, but they will be able to learn more about the Green Oceanside campaign and hear firsthand from their business peers how easy it is to get involved and help the City reach its recycling goals.”
