The largest Earth Festival in North County will be held Sunday, April 27, 2014, from 10 a.m. - 5 p.m. in downtown Oceanside at Pier View Way and Tremont Street. The streets will be lined with fun activities for all ages including a vintage market, green home improvement area, water-friendly plant sale, Human Powered Zone, and a Children’s Eco-Zone with an assortment of Earth-friendly crafts. Environmental demonstrations, a rock climbing wall, live entertainment and a Recycled Chic Fashion Show will make this a free, fun, family-friendly event not to be missed. The Earth Festival is a fun way to learn how to be a better steward of the planet while enjoying lively activities, eco-friendly vendors and great entertainment. From kid-friendly Earth crafts, to a rock climbing wall, and an adult tricycle competition, there is something for everyone at this year’s Earth Festival.
With the spacious downtown location, this year’s Earth Festival will have even more local nonprofit and environmentally-geared booths, and will feature a children’s recycled instrument parade. Also, the Festival will have a home improvement section focused on water conservation practices with vendors specializing in garden rock and California-friendly plants.
The Earth Festival is sponsored by the City of Oceanside, Green Oceanside Campaign and community partners from and around North County. Green Oceanside is a campaign dedicated to teaching residents and local businesses how to be better stewards of the Earth by recycling, reducing waste, composting, using water efficiently and preventing water pollution and litter.
