Disabled Surfboard Robbery

On Monday, 7/21/2014, at approximately 9:00 pm, an Oceanside business owner observed two unknown white males attempting to remove three surfboards from the roof rack of his vehicle. The victim, Mr. Abbott, confronted the suspects and was attacked and thrown from his wheelchair. The suspects then made off with the surfboards in a silver Toyota 4-runner. Two boards were recovered nearby, but were badly damaged. A third board is still missing. Mr. Abbott is a disabled USMC veteran in a wheelchair and runs a business which helps disabled veterans and children with service dogs and surfing.
The Oceanside Police Department is asking the community for assistance to identify the suspects involved in this case.
The suspects were described as the following:
1) WMA, 20-26 years, 5’10”, 160 lbs, blonde “shaggy” short hair, thin build, dark colored board shorts.
2) WMA, 20-26 years, 5’11”, 175-180 lbs, tan complexion, brown long hair in ponytail, dark colored shorts, dark colored “Bones” skateboarding t-shirt with white lettering.
Suspect Vehicle is described as an older model Silver Toyota 4-Runner with tinted windows and large BF Goodrich tires.
