Oceanside Harbor Manager Appointed

The City of Oceanside is pleased to announce the selection of Paul C. Lawrence as its new Harbor Manager. Mr. Lawrence comes to Oceanside from the Dana Point Harbor where he served as the Operations Manager since 2001. While at Dana Point Harbor, Lawrence worked on several water quality initiatives and provided management oversight for the Harbor's two marinas, two shopping centers, hotel, launch ramp and boat dry storage areas. His oversight in Dana Point included financial controls and approvals, Boat Slip License Agreements, tenant leases and Harbor policies. He worked closely with Harbor users and service providers, including: special event organizers, the Orange County Sheriff’s Office Harbor Patrol and the Dana Point Police Services.
In addition to his harbor management experience, Lawrence is a California Licensed Real Estate Broker. His background in commercial real estate includes asset management, commercial property sales, landlord & tenant representation, lease negotiations, and work for law firms as a commercial property expert and lease administration.
Lawrence also served on the California Coastal Commission’s original California Clean Marina Advisory Committee and was a contributor to the Third Edition of the Santa Monica Bay Restoration Foundation’s Boater’s Guide to Southern California.

His customer service orientation, experience with critical issues current to the Oceanside Harbor, and his diverse background will be an asset," said Steve Jepsen, Oceanside City Manager. Mr. Lawrence will start his new position in Oceanside on August 25; his starting annual salary is $123,120.
