Police Search for Missing Juvenile

Police are searching for a 14-year-old female who is missing under suspicious circumstances. The juvenile, identified as Makaylia Williams, was last seen leaving the apartment to take out the trash today at approximately 6:22 p.m. She is missing from an apartment in the 1300 block of Marquette Street.
Makaylia was last seen at approximately 6:22 p.m. leaving the apartment with a bag of trash to take to a dumpster in the alley. When her mother noticed she had not returned an hour later, she called police to report her missing. Police found a bag of trash, later identified by the mother as the bag Makaylia was carrying, in a bush near the missing juvenile's apartment with the contents strewn on the ground. The child’s mother said the juvenile is new to the neighborhood with few friends, and that is type of behavior is uncharacteristic.
A missing person’s investigation has been launched and approximately 20 Officers are involved in a grid search of the surrounding neighborhood. The Orange County Sheriff’s Search and Rescue Team is in the process of searching the neighborhood with bloodhounds and the San Diego Sheriff’s Department’s Astrea Helicopter has searched the surrounding canyon. The reverse 911 dispatch system has also been activated, leaving a recorded message on the phones in the surrounding neighborhood.
Makaylia is described as a BFJ 5-4, 170 pounds, last seen wearing a summer dress with an orange/tan/white pattern on the fabric.
