Community Development Block Grant – Recovery Act Funds (CDBG-R)

Program Description:
The Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) program enables local governments to undertake a wide range of activities intended to create suitable living environments, provide decent affordable housing and create economic opportunities, primarily for persons of low and moderate income. Under the Recovery Act, recipients shall give priority to projects that can award contracts based on bids within 120 days of the grant agreement. The Recovery Act of 2009 directs that CDBG-R grantess are to use these founds for projects that maximize job creation and economic benefit.

Funds available to City of Oceanside: $485,796

Date funds will be available: TBD. Once the City receives a notice that funds are available and guidelines for use of the funds, the City Council can consider and approve projects for CDBG-R funding.
