A Pearl Harbor Remembrance Ceremony will be held at the Oceanside Harbor's Small Fishing Pier on Saturday, December 7, 2024.  The ceremony will begin at 9:30 a.m. with an Honor Guard, and will include speakers, the playing of Taps, and conclude with a scattering of flower petals in memory of those lost.  All are welcome to attend.

About the Pearl Harbor attack:  The Pearl Harbor attack took place 83 years ago on December 7, 1941, when the Japanese unleashed an aerial attack on the U.S. naval base at Pearl Harbor on the island of Oahu, Hawaii.  This devastating strike resulted in more than 2,400 deaths and many injuries, and led to the U.S. Congress' declaring war on Japan on December 8, signaling the United States' entry into the Pacific War and heralding its participation in World War II at large.
