Oceanside Parks and Recreation offers a variety of fun ways for residents and visitors to engage in the community. Through our parks, beaches, recreation facilities, senior centers, community pools, and programs, people of all ages can find their kind of fun.

Age-Friendly Action Plan

The City of Oceanside joined the AARP Age-Friendly Network on April 7, 2024. The City is working with the Center for Excellence in Aging & Longevity at the San Diego State University Social Policy Institute to develop a 5-year action plan. The City hosted several listening and action planning sessions  to gather community input about needs and priorities that would make Oceanside more livable.  This 5-year action plan was developed based on information gathered during the public outreach.

Craft in the Park

Get creative with us at Craft in the Park! Participants will enjoy a fun afternoon of hands-on crafts and art activities, including:

🌈 Rainbow Garden & Butterfly Suncatchers – Create a colorful suncatcher using tissue paper and transparent film to create a beautiful stained-glass-inspired effect.

🎨 Fabric Snapback Bracelets – Decorate your own fabric-covered snapback bracelet with colorful designs.

🖍️ Coloring – Additional coloring sheets will be available to complete and take home.

Important Information: 

 A minimum of one adult must be present with each participating child throughout the event. This is an outdoor event, so attendees are encouraged to wear sunscreen and bring water. Registration is required. 

All craft materials will be provided. Participants will be able to take their completed crafts home.
