Green Oceanside is a city-run environmental campaign established to educate residents, businesses and visitors about how to be better stewards of the earth. Programs such as Zero Waste, Watershed Protection, and Water Efficiency provide opportunities for the public to actively protect and benefit the local environment. What's New?
Donation and Landfill Weeks Spring 2026
Have gently used items you’re ready to part with? Donate them to the Veterans Thrift Store and enjoy a free pickup during Donation Weeks, April 6–17.
To schedule a free pickup of up to eight items, call (619) 337-9244 and place your donations outside on your scheduled pickup day—the Veterans Thrift Store will take care of the rest.
Need to dispose of additional items? Landfill pickup services are available during Landfill Weeks, April 20–May 1. Please note that household hazardous waste is not accepted through this program; however, it can be dropped off by appointment at 2880 Industry Street.
