ACCESS AT CITY HALL COUNTERS / PUBLIC FACILITIES:  In order to minimize the spread of COVID-19 in the community, public counters at City Hall and other City facilities are now closed.  Many services may be accessed online or through a phone call. ACCESS SERVICES.  To drop off plans, call (760) 435-4500.  To pay a bill, mail it in or drop in drop box outside Cashier's Office at 300-C North Ditmar Street (East Building).

Oceanside Water Utilities and SDG&E are both temporarily suspending disconnections to services for non-payment.  The City will immediately suspend parking enforcement associated with street sweeping.  This policy will extend will through the end of March unless otherwise extended.  It’s requested that residents and visitors continue moving their cars to accommodate sweeping if physically able to do so in the interest of maintaining the health and cleanliness of City streets to the extent possible.

The City has developed its Continuity of Operations Plan, to ensure all critical functions of City government remain operational during emergency events, including infectious disease emergencies.

There are other steps the City of Oceanside is taking to help minimize the risk of COVID-19 spread:

  • Cancelling all large City gatherings and events for the time being
  • Closing all beaches for all activities, including water activities
  • Closing beach parking lots, beach picnic gazebos, the Pier and Amphitheater
  • Closing public access to City facilities
  • Cancelling all Library programs and Parks and Recreation programs and sports
  • Closing Recreation Centers, playgrounds, skate parks
  • Closing Senior Centers
  • Closing Libraries
  • Working with San Diego County Health Department on Homeless Resources
  • Staff is calling to check in on seniors who frequently visit the Senior Centers and arranging for food options
  • Increasing cleaning/disinfecting schedules at all City facilities
  • Placing hand wash stations in areas throughout the City in community gathering spaces and places homeless individuals may congregate.
  • Sharing County Health and CDC information through newsletters and social media
  • Updating these dedicated webpage daily
  • Sharing COVID-19 messages via water bills
  • Playing Public Service Announcements on preventative measures on KOCT
  • Reaching out to Oceanside residential care for the elderly providers to ensure they are taking precautions
  • Oceanside Police Homeless Outreach Teams providing informational handouts

The containment of COVID-19 is an ever-evolving situation.  Because of this, the best source for the most up-to-date information is San Diego County Public Health and the Center for Disease Control.
