Library 24/7

Service Update (June 15, 2021) - The Oceanside Public Library is open for in-person service.  The Library has a plan in place to provide the safest service possible for the community while open.

Here is what can be expected when visiting the Library:

    • The Civic Center and Mission Branch Libraries are open Monday through Saturday from 10:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m.

    • Limited Bookmobile service has resumed 5 days a week.  Please see the Hours and Locations page for more information.

    • Oceanside READS Learning Center will be opening Monday, Tuesday  and Thursday from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m., and Wednesday and Friday by appointment beginning June 22.

    • Browsing and self-service pickup of materials is available inside the Libraries, using the self-check kiosks.

    • Home Delivery of material is still an option for most Oceanside residents.  Material is delivered 5 days per week based on delivery zones.

    • The Book Return bins in front of the Libraries are open and are emptied by staff Monday through Saturday.  Overdue fines are not being charged on material during this time.

    • There are a limited number of self-service public computers available for customers to use for one hour per day at the Civic Center and Mission Branch Libraries.  Self-service printing, faxing and scanning is available.

    • The Civic Center Library’s study rooms are available for use by two people at a time in two-hour increments on a first-come, first-served basis.  All in-person programs are suspended, but many regular programs, such as storytimes and book clubs, are currently being held online.

Unvaccinated customers are still required to wear a mask inside the Library.  If you see fines on your account, don’t worry, you will still be able to renew and check out material.  Call us at (760) 435-5600, Monday through Saturday, 10:00 a.m. - 6:00 p.m. for more information.
