The Water Awareness Poster Contest is an annual competition amongst fourth grade students in each of the North County water agencies’ service areas, designed to promote an understanding and appreciation for conserving water and using it more efficiently.
The 2021 contest has begun! The theme of the contest is “Love Water, Save Water” and is open to all fourth-grade students in Oceanside. Students are encouraged to illustrate ways they love water, how they save water at home, or ways they might save or recycle water in the future. Three winning students will receive prizes and have their artwork printed in the 2022 North County Water Agency Calendar.

Congratulations to Jeremiah Martinez of Ivy Ranch Middle School for winning the 2020 contest! Second and third place go to Evelyn Boren and Lauren Troupe, respectively, students from McAuliffe Elementary School. The artwork of these three students is featured in the 2021 North County Water Agency Calendar.
Water Use Lesson Plan and Activities
The Green Oceanside team put together the Water Use Lesson Plan (K-5). This two-day lesson will engage your students in a daily water logging activity and discussion, teaching important lessons about the ways we rely on water in our daily lives. Download the Water Use Lesson Plan (K-5).

SPLASH LAB (Grades 4-6)
The Splash Lab is a completely self-contained mobile lab that provides students with hands-on science experience. Splash lab is currently being offered virtually! Free K-5 Education Online
The City of Oceanside partnered with the San Diego County Water Authority to develop educational videos on water quality and water resources for children while school assembly programs are suspended.
