General Municipal Election - November 3, 2026
The next General Municipal Election will be held on November 3, 2026, for the offices of:
- District 1 City Council Member
- District 2 City Council Member
The City Clerk will issue nomination papers to prospective candidates from July 13 to August 7, 2026 (CA Elections Code § 10220).
In order to obtain nomination papers, you will need to schedule a time to meet with City Clerk during the aforementioned period. Please email cityclerk@oceansideca.org or call (760) 435-3001 to schedule an appointment.

General Elections Information
Oceanside is a Charter City, but follows the California Elections Code, Government Codes and Fair Political Practices Commission regulations in all election matters. The City Clerk serves as the Election Officer for the City. All election-related questions should be addressed to the City Clerk Department at (760) 435-3001 or e-mailed to cityclerk@oceansideca.org.
