Public and private construction projects are inspected by the Engineering Division, Inspection Section to ensure compliance with federal, state, and local codes and regulations for grading, erosion control, improvement, and landscaping.

A minimum of 24 hours notice is required to schedule an inspection. Minimum 1 week notice is required to request a preconstruction meeting.

All calls and e-mail messages will be checked daily and an inspector will contact you as soon as possible. Emergencies that cannot wait for next day communication can be called in to the Development Services front counter staff at (760) 435-5097 and an inspector be paged for you. Generally, the inspector will be in the office between the hours of 7 a.m. to approximately 8:30 a.m. for direct communication. At other times, voice mail is available to leave messages.
