These partnerships help ensure Oceanside’s workforce is ready to thrive in a growing green economy while supporting the City’s broader climate and economic goals.

The gO’side fully electric shuttle offers a low-cost way to travel between key Oceanside destinations, supporting access to local businesses and attractions while reducing reliance on personal vehicles and lowering emissions in the downtown area.

San Diego LEARN 
A regional initiative that builds a skilled clean energy workforce by connecting residents and professionals with hundreds of free online courses and certifications in energy efficiency and building electrification, including select offerings in Spanish. Programs support job seekers, industry professionals, and homeowners while expanding equitable access to green career pathways across the San Diego region.

Tree San Diego Treejectory+ Program
Treejectory+ offers paid, hands-on training in urban forestry and tree care, preparing participants for careers in the growing green workforce while helping expand tree canopy in underserved communities. The program connects residents to job opportunities and strengthens workforce development, supporting long-term growth in the region’s green economy.

VIBE Mentorship Program
This free 6-month mentorship program connects students and early-career professionals interested in sustainable real estate, green building, and ESG careers with experienced sustainability practitioners for career guidance, networking, and professional development.

San Diego Workforce Partnership
Provides job seekers and businesses in the region with training and career pathway support in high-growth fields including energy, construction, and utilities.  

Urban Corps of San Diego County
Offers young adults hands-on training and certifications in urban forestry, native habitat restoration, and other environmental careers. 

GRID Alternatives San Diego
Provides solar installation training, workforce development programs, and inclusive job training for low-income communities and veterans in the clean energy sector. 

San Diego Canyonlands’ ECO Initiative 
Offers paid job training in habitat restoration and wilderness management, targeted at underserved populations and supporting regional green workforce needs. 

San Diego Foundation Youth Green Jobs Grants
Provides funding to nonprofits for training and fellowships in solar, urban agriculture, environmental justice, and green careers for “opportunity youth” in San Diego County. 

San Diego North Economic Development Council’s SOCAL Workforce Program
A regional partnership including Oceanside that connects students and transitioning adults with in-demand career pathways in the green economy. 

San Diego Regional Energy Network (SDREN)
SDREN provides education, technical assistance, training, and resources to help residents, businesses, and public agencies save energy and reduce emissions. SDREN programs are being launched on a rolling basis and support energy efficiency, building decarbonization, and workforce development across the region.
