Q: What are your lap swim hours?
A: Wagner Aquatic Center: Monday-Friday 6am-8am & 9am-7pm Saturday/Sunday 10am-5pm Long Course is on Tuesday/Thursday from 6am-8am & 9am-1:30pm (competition pool is closed from 1:30-2pm these days)

Brooks Street is open for lap swimming Monday-Friday 6am-1:15pm and Saturday/Sunday 10:15am-1:15pm.

Q: Can I bring my children to lap swim?
A: Children must be able to swim continuous laps independently to swim laps at the facility. 

Q: How do I sign up my child for swim lessons?
A: If your child has not had a swim lesson with us before and is above 45" tall, they must come in for a swim assessment before registration day. You can sign up for a swim assessment by calling one of our facilities. Persons interested in Sea Otter Pups or Sea Horse lessons do not need to come in. Parents should make a profile on oceansiderec.com before the registration date or coming in for skills testing. Creating a profile before coming in will ensure that we can easily attach skills or that the parent can sign up their child from home on the registration date. 

Q: Your lessons always fill up quickly, how can I ensure getting a spot for my child? 
A: Once a profile for the child has been made and the correct skills are attached, signing up only takes a couple of minutes. To have the best chance for a spot we recommend completing the families profile before registration day, having your child take our swim assessment, and signing up online from home at 8am sharp on registration day. Classes may be added to your "Wishlist" before registration begins.

Q: Can I host a birthday party at one of your facilities?
A: Absolutely! Both Marshall and Brooks Street Swim Centers can be rented out for a private event. Learn more about pricing here. Wagner Aquatic Center has a picnic area that can be rented out during our public recreation swim hours. You can find more information here.

Q: How do I apply for a refund?
A: Refunds are granted to those who apply before the Thursday prior to the first day of class. Exceptions are made for medical reasons. You can request a refund here.

Q: I accidentally purchased the wrong class, how do I switch to another class?
A: If you need to switch to a different session or facility, you can request a transfer here.

Q: Do you have Family Recreation Swim?
A: We offer rec swim at the Wagner Aquatic Center from 1pm-5pm Monday-Friday and 10am-5pm Saturday/Sunday. Children under 45" must be accompanied by an adult and must be within arms-length at all times. Diving boards are open everyday during recreation swim hours.


Q: Are your pools heated?
A: Wagner Aquatic Center has two pools. The competition pool (our lap swim pool) ranges 78-80 degrees, and our recreation/instructional pool is around 80-85 degrees. Marshall Street and Brooks Street pools are around 78-80 degrees. 

Q: Can I rent lanes at the facility?
A: Lane rentals are mostly for organizations and not for individuals and require general liability insurance. Interested parties can email aquatics@oceansideca.org for more information. 

Q: Are you open in the rain? 
A: We do not close for rain but we will close for 30 minutes after lightning/thunder, or if the pool visibility becomes difficult. 

Q: Do you accept Silver Sneakers?
A: We do not participate in Silver Sneakers.
