Teacher reading to childrenOceanside Parks & Recreation Division classes provide diversified programming that develops new interests or fosters further development of a specific skill or training. Our quality programs provide a variety of benefits and encourage lifelong learning.

The Parks and Recreation Division accepts new proposals on an ongoing basis. Proposals are reviewed in the order in which they are received and are reviewed based on the following criteria:

Community interest, current trends, facility availability, division goals, quality & instructor experience.

New Instructor Requirements

Individuals interested in applying to teach with Parks and Recreation must first complete the Contract Instructor Application below. For an applicant to be considered, the proposal Application must include minimum:

  • Instructor Contact Information
  • Course Title and Description
  • Fees to be charged to participant including material fees, if applicable
  • List of preferred days/times/locations

  • Resume
  • References
  • Certifications that qualify the applicant

Qualified applicants will possess a current Oceanside Business License and Liability Insurance. A background check is required and will be conducted by the City of Oceanside prior to teaching.
