The City of Oceanside is engaging the community in order to update its Master Plan. This process will provide guidance to the City Council, Planning Commission, Parks and Recreation Commission and City staff as to the priorities for the City's current park system. The goal is to ensure that the park system is meeting as many needs of Oceanside residents in the best way possible.

  • April - intercept and statistically valid surveys
  • April - Additional stakeholder interviews
  • April 5 - Pop-up outreach at the Oceanside Sunset Market
  • April - May - Design standards
  • May - June - Program Analysis and Deficiency Summary (Trail inventory, Gap Analysis, Parkshed Summary)
  • May 15 - Public Workshop #3
  • May 29 - Pop-up outreach Movie at the Park (Buddy Todd Park)
  • July - Prioritization of Facilities and Parks
  • August - Implementation, Phasing, and Funding
  • September 2019 - Draft of Parks and Recreation Master Plan
  • November 2019 - City Council adopted the current Master Plan November 20, 2019
