The Parking Enforcement program is responsible for enforcing parking laws citywide and responds to over 3,000 citizen requests for service annually. Parking Enforcement Officers accompany the street sweeping of our residential areas to ensure compliance in keeping the streets clear of vehicles. On average, more than 3500 vehicles are tagged for potential impound with 700 of those vehicles, mostly abandoned, being removed from the City streets every year.
Enforcement in the beach, harbor, and downtown areas maintains adherence to pay parking provisions as well as keeps regular turnover to free up parking for maximum community benefit.
Parking Enforcement operates 16 hours per day, 7 days a week.
