Go by Bike!
Oceanside has approximately 12 miles of bike paths, 23 miles of bike routes, and 70 miles of bike lanes. There are two secure bicycle parking facilities in downtown Oceanside which require a free membership to access. Both facilities are designed for short-term bike parking while visiting downtown services or using the Sprinter, Coaster, or Metro. Long term storage (more than seven days) is not allowed.
- The Oceanside City Hall Bike Station, funded by a SANDAG Active Transportation Grant, is awaiting your bike! Entry is gained through a membership fob that electrically opens the door and activates a video camera that records every entry and exit. Memberships for the secure facility are free for bike commuters. The parking facility provides security and protection from the elements with inside storage under video surveillance. Electric outlets are available to recharge electric bikes. A bike repair station with an air pump has been installed inside. City Hall is located at 300 N. Coast Highway, Oceanside, CA 92054.
- The Oceanside Transit Center Bike Station, funded by a SANDAG grant, was opened in 2015. This secure facility holds 26 bikes. Rail customers can use the facility to park their bike when taking rail services out of Oceanside or have their bike available when they arrive. The parking facility provides security and protection from the elements with inside storage under video surveillance. Entry is gained through a fob that electrically opens the door and activates a video camera that records every entry and exit. A bike repair stand with specific bike tools and a tire pump are located in the rear of the facility. The Oceanside Transit Center (OTC) is one of the busiest transit centers in the San Diego region! The station is located along a mixed-use corridor in downtown Oceanside in the northwest corner of the region at 235 S. Tremont Street. Several transit services converge at OTC – Amtrak and Metrolink interregional rail services, COASTER commuter rail, SPRINTER light rail, and several local bus routes.
