Keep Oceanside Beautiful!
Let's work together to keep Oceanside beautiful! To be Oceanside environmental stewards, let's learn about the Oceanside environment and how to protect it. Keep reading to learn how you can take action!
Did you know you currently live in a watershed? A watershed is an area of land where all the rain (and snowmelt!) drains to a body of water like a stream, river, or the ocean. So, technically everyone lives within a watershed! It is our responsibility to keep our watersheds clean to protect our friends downstream.

Stormwater runoff is water that runs down the street when it rains. To keep out watershed clean, it's important that we keep pollutants such as trash, chemicals, soap, pet waste, and dirt from getting in stormwater. Unlike our wastewater, stormwater enters storm drains untreated and ends up in our local waterbodies. Let's work together to keep these pollutants out of our waterways!
Only rainwater is allowed in storm drains. Keeping our water clean will help keep plants and animals healthy and keep us all safe when we play in the water.
