Friends of Library Reopens its Amazon Bookstore

Looking for Bargains on Books? Think "Friends" First!

The Friends of the Oceanside Public Library have reopened their Amazon Bookstore, offering book lovers an opportunity to purchase gently used books and help support the Library’s programs, special events for all ages, and acquisition of new books and other materials.

Offerings in the Friends’ Bookstore range from recent best sellers like Brian Kilmead’s The President and the Freedom Fighter to classics including Charles Darwin’s On the Origin of Species by Means of Natural Selection – hardbacks and paperbacks in a variety of genres, along with the price, condition of the book and estimated delivery date.

To access the site, copy and paste this address or type it into your browser:  www.amazon.com/shops/check_out_books.  Shoppers can search for a specific title or author, or browse and make their selection.

Friends’ Board Member and Amazon Bookstore Manager Donna Locke encourages book shoppers to “Think ‘Friends’ First!” to save on used books, and added, “When you’re on Amazon, here’s another way to help the Friends support the Library and at no cost to you:  Sign up with AmazonSmile with the Friends as your chosen charity, and AmazonSmile will donate 0.5% of your eligible purchases to the Friends.”

For those who would rather shop in person, used books – along with DVDs, CDs and magazines – are available at the Friends Bookstores, located at the Civic Center and Mission Branch Libraries.

The mission of the Friends of the Oceanside Public Library is to support and promote the services and resources of the Oceanside Public Library through community involvement, volunteer activities, and fundraising.  For information about the Friends, please visit oplfriends.org or call (760) 435-5560.
