Oceanside Days of Art - April 18 & 19 - The Oceanside Cultural Arts Foundation proudly presents the 23rd annual Oceanside Days of Art (ODA) held on Saturday, April 18 and Sunday, April 19 from 10:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. ODA is a juried fine art festival featuring over 100 local artists selling a variety of unique artwork including paintings, sculptures, stained glass, ceramics, fine jewelry, photography and more. The free festival has live stage performances, interactive art activities, painting and sculpture demonstrations, and a delicious variety of food choices. Coastal Zone Parking Survey - The City is contemplating changes to residential parking standards in portions of the Coastal Zone located outside of the Downtown District. The Planning Division is exploring alternative parking standards that address high-occupancy dwelling units, tandem parking, lift parking, and guest parking in condominium and apartment complexes. As part of this effort, staff is seeking your input. A brief survey was posted and there is a Community Workshop scheduled for 6:30 p.m. on Thursday, April 23, 2015, at the Beach Community Center located at 300 N. The Strand in Oceanside. Thank you for taking a moment to complete the survey. Responses will be accepted through Thursday, April 30. Responses received by April 17 will be shared at the community workshop. More info |

City Council Budget Workshop - The Council will be considering City priorities at a Budget Workshop on Wednesday, April 29 at 2:00 p.m.in the Council Chambers at 300 N. Coast Highway. The meeting is open to the public. |

Economic Development News - Oceanside has a dynamic business climate with new restaurants, retail shops, and manufacturing businesses moving into the City. The City's Economic Development Division assists businesses with expansion and relocation to Oceanside by offering site searches, business visits, demographic and statistical information, and assistance with permit processing and business license issuance. Water Conservation - Record-breaking high temperatures and increasing statewide drops in water reserves continue as California's water supply situation becomes more serious with each passing day. On March 17, Governor Brown announced State Drought Emergency Actions which asks all Californians to continue to cut water use as much as possible as we enter our fourth consecutive dry year. Check link for news on how we can all conserve water, find rebates and classes. |

Beach Restrooms Project Phase 1 - Construction continues on the first phase of a multi-phase improvement project along the waterfront. The first beach restrooms are under construction which are located along The Strand at Breakwater and Sportfisher. It is anticipated the restrooms on the Oceanside Pier and at Wisconsin Street will start the remodeling process late April 2015. All project sites are scheduled to be completed early July 2015.
Beach Restroom and Operations Facility Project - The next phase of restroom projects will address the much-needed improvements to beach operations and visitor-serving facilities adjacent to the Junior Seau Amphitheater and Tyson Street Park. This project has just started the conceptual design process. The second community meeting was held March 25. Additional information about this potential project is located on the City website under Development Services Department here. Future meetings will be advertised on the City’s calendar of events, Facebook, Twitter and site-specific signage. |

Coast Highway Corridor Study Video-The Coast Highway Corridor Study video has been created to communicate the idea of transforming Coast Highway from an auto-oriented thoroughfare into a "complete street" that serves all modes of transportation from automobiles to pedestrians to bicyclists and transit vehicles. Please take a few moments to view this video and share it with your friends and neighbors. The next community meeting for the Coast Highway Corridor Study is scheduled for June 2015. Oceanside Business Expo - On Thursday, April 16, the Oceanside Chamber of Commerce in partnership with the Hispanic Chamber of E-Commerce will hold the Oceanside Business Expo/Hispanic Business Showcase, Oceanside's ultimate networking event. The event will be held at the QLN Conference Center in Oceanside and provides a great opportunity for local business owners to connect with business owners from around the region and build business relationships and strategic partnerships. Beach Soccer Championships Return - May 15-17 - The largest Beach Soccer Festival on the West Coast returns to Oceanside with over 300 youth and pro teams! The Beach Soccer Championship holds a FREE Beach Soccer Clinic for kids on Friday, May 15 from 5:30-7:00 p.m. at the Harbor Beach, run by pro players. |
