Oceanside Transit Center Improvement ProjectIn January 2017, SANDAG was able to complete the majority of the project from Oceanside Boulevard to Wisconsin Avenue, including improvements to the rail crossing at Wisconsin Avenue. The remaining construction will primarily focus on completing the new third track, a new track crossover, and boarding platform near the existing SPRINTER platform. The new boarding platform is expected to go into service in late March. There will continue to be intermittent nighttime work required to complete the construction. The project will enhance the capacity and reliability of the Los Angeles-San Diego-San Luis Obispo (LOSSAN) coastal rail corridor, improve schedule efficiencies and travel times, and modernize the station for a better rider experience. Learn more by visiting, by emailing, or by calling 858-549-RAIL.

Downtown Oceanside Water and Sewer Replacement Project - Work has begun to replace important water and sewer lines, improve drinking water deliveries and enhance wastewater flow to ensure a safe, reliable and efficient wastewater distribution system. Work will take place Monday through Friday from 7:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. No equipment to operate prior to 8:00 a.m. No work will occur on Thursdays near the Farmers' Market area. The project is scheduled to be complete in fall of 2017 and includes replacing water meters, hydrants, customer water service connections, 1.8 miles of water lines and 2.1 miles of sewer lines. Buc Beach Sand Dec 2016.jpg

Beach sand replenishment- City staff recently received the final permits necessary to receive free, beach-quality sand generated from any regional projects. In late December, the Public Works Department obtained about 2,500 cubic yards of free sand from a project at Camp Pendleton. The sand was deposited at Buccaneer Beach.  As new projects begin, the City hopes to take advantage of more material for our beaches.  Additional sand will be gained from the annual Oceanside Harbor dredging project by the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers (USACE).
